To Gain Your Own Voice

"To gain your own voice, you have to forget about having it heard" - Allen Ginsberg.

Be honest, be honest, be honest.  If we as writers can just be honest, it will always resonate and help someone else along their way.  But in order for that to happen there has to be a certain letting go.  A turning of our backs to the world.  A turning of our backs to approval, probably even more than rejection.  A turning of our backs to caring what anyone will think of this.  Be honest.  Easier said than done. But whatever it takes to get there, I want to keep striving for that goal.  True Art can only come from there, I believe.
